Análisis poblacional de células vegetativas de Bacillus thuringiensis en interacción in vitro con bacterias del suelo Agrociencia

La bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis se usa como bioinsecticida agrícola, pero se conoce poco sobre su persistencia en el suelo. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar la interacción de las células vegetativas o no esporuladas de B. thuringiensis, con 11 microorganismos nativos de suelo. Las bacterias fueron confrontadas por cocultivo de pares en condiciones controladas, y se evaluaron cinéticas de crecimiento por conteo celular en placa de los microorganismos estudiados. Los resultados mostraron que el desarrollo de B. thuringiensis es afectado por siete de los 11 microorganismos de suelo evaluados. Las bacterias promotoras del crecimiento vegetal (PGPB) influyen de forma directa o indirecta en el desarrollo de los cultivos. Este trabajo tiene como objetivos determinar la actividad antagónica y el efecto inhibitorio de los metabolitos activos producidos por rizobacterias ante fitopatógenos que afectan a los cultivos del maíz y el arroz. Para ello se desarrollaron bioensayos in vitro en el medio King B. Characterization and lytic activity of Pseudomonas fluorescens phages from sewage BJM

Pseudomonas fluorescens phages from sewage were tested against P. fluorescens isolates of soil and sewage. The phages were characterized as to host range, morphology, structural proteins and genome fingerprint. Of the seven phages isolated, one was found to be abundant in sewage (5.9×10(7) pfu/mL), having broad host range, and distinct protein and DNA profile when compared to the other six phages. DNA restriction and protein profiles of the phages and their morphology indicate the diversity in the sewage environment. None of the isolates from the rhizosphere regions of various cultivated soils were susceptible to phages isolated from sewage.

Compatibility of Azospirillum brasilense and Pseudomonas fluorescens in growth promotion of groundnut ( Arachis hypogea L.) Anais da ABC (AABC)

ABSTRACT We attempted to study the compatibility among plant beneficial bacteria in the culture level by growing them near in the nutrient agar plates. Among all the bacteria tested, Rhizobium was found to inhibit the growth of other bacteria. From the compatible group of PGPR, we have selected one biofertilizer (Azospirillum brasilense strain TNAU) and one biocontrol agent (Pseudomonas fluorescens strain PF1) for further studies in the pot culture. We have also developed a bioformulation which is talc powder based, for individual bacteria and mixed culture. Para avaliar o desempenho agronômico da cultura do milho (Zea mays) de segunda safra submetido à inoculação com Pseudomonas fluorescens sob níveis de adubação NPK, um experimento em campo foi conduzido utilizando-se a cultivar de milho híbrido 30F35 cultivada em Latossolo Vermelho eutroférrico. Foram testados seis tratamentos sob o delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados, em esquema fatorial 3 x 2, sendo três níveis de adubação química com NPK (0, 125 e 250 kg ha-1) e dois níveis de inoculante à base de P. fluorescens (com e sem), com quatro repetições. The effect of soil application of biocontrol agents (Pseudomonas fluorescens, Trichoderma viride and T. harzianum) in combination with chitin on induction of phenolics and defense enzymes in coconut roots infected with Ganoderma lucidum, the causal agent of Ganoderma disease, was investigated. Soil application of these biocontrol formulations in combination with chitin induced a significant increase in the activities of peroxidase (PO), polyphenol oxidase (PPO), phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL), chitinase and beta-1,3-glucanase in the G. lucidum infected palms. Lack of AHL-based quorum sensing in Pseudomonas fluorescens isolated from milk BJM

Numerous bacteria coordinate gene expression in response to small signalling molecules in many cases known as acylhomoserine lactones (AHLs), which accumulate as a function of cell density in a process known as quorum sensing. This work aimed to determine if phenotypes that are important to define microbial activity in foods such as biofilm formation, swarming motility and proteolytic activity of two Pseudomonas fluorescens strains, isolated from refrigerated raw milk, are influenced by AHL molecules. The practice of refrigerating raw milk at the farm has provided a selective advantage for psychrotrophic bacteria that produce heat-stable proteases and lipases causing severe quality problems to the dairy industry. In this work, a protease (AprX) and a lipase (LipM) produced by Pseudomonas fluorescens 041, a highly proteolytic and lipolytic strain isolated from raw milk obtained from a Brazilian farm, have been purified and characterized. Both enzymes were purified as recombinant proteins from Escherichia coli. Production of yellow-green fluorescent pigment by Pseudomonas fluorescens BABT

A medium was prepared from brewery waste yeast with and without mineral salts to study growth and yellow-green fluorescent pigment production (YGFP) by Pseudomonas fluorescens. The King's medium used for detection of siderophore production were expressively weaker inductors of YGFP formation when compared to FYE medium. Although FYE and CYE could be used for growth of P. fluorescens, only FYE was an attractive medium for detection of YGFP strain producers.

El objetivo de esta investigación fue aislar y caracterizar bacterias solubilizadoras de fosfatos (BSF) asociadas a la rizosfera de Baccharis macrantha y Viburnum triphyllum, y evaluar su capacidad para solubilizar fosfatos en condiciones in vitro. Además se determinó el efecto de la inoculación de las cepas de BSF más eficientes sobre el crecimiento de B. macrantha. Las muestras de suelo rizosférico de B. macrantha y V. triphyllum fueron colectadas en los meses de mayo-período de lluvia y septiembre-período seco del 2012. The proteolytic activity of Pseudomonas fluorescens 07A isolated from milk is not regulated by quorum sensing signals BJM

The proteolytic activity of Pseudomonas fluorescens 07A was investigated, and was optimal on tryptone-calcium medium. N-acyl-homoserine lactones (AHLs) were not detected on supernatants of late-exponential and stationary-phase culture broths. Synthetic AHLs or bacterial cell extracts added to the medium did not influence growth or proteolytic activity suggesting that quorum sensing might not regulate protease production in this strain.
